Gimjae-si is located to
the west of the center part of Jeollabuk-do. It borders Wanjugun
to the east on Noryeong Mountains, Jeongeup-si and Buan-gun
to the south on Dongjin River, Iksan-si to the north on Mangyeong
River and its rivermouth and the western sea to the west.
Its size is 545.46k2m and the population is 125,755 (December 31st, 1997). City
hall is located in Seoam-dong. The mountains such as Guseon Mountain, Moak Mountain,
Guksa-bong and Sangdu Mountain with the height of 500 ~ 700m are located from
north- northeast direction to south-southwest direction. |
