The Sinpung Changgu, noted throughout the country for
its profound and unique timbre, is a famed percussion instrument
made by Kang Shinha (aged 73 as of 2002) who has been solely
engaged for 40 years in perfecting this traditional instrument.
Sought by the lovers of Korean classic music incessantly,
this hourglass-shaped instrument is made of paulownia wood
of which inner part is dug out and the exterior is elaborated
in good shape. To the right and left end, cow and dog leather
are applied respectively.
